An 8 × 10 inch example
At 300 PPI, 8 × 10 inches requires 2400 × 3000 pixels. An 1800 × 2400 original has a different aspect ratio: fitting the entire image creates unused space in the target rectangle, while filling it crops part of the image. Decide which composition is acceptable before ordering.
A print label does not override a layout application or printer setting that scales an image. Verify the final placement dimensions and any fit-to-page option. Ask the printer for its preferred input density and bleed rather than substituting its hardware DPI rating.

What is effective PPI?
It is the available pixels divided by the physical inches at which those pixels will be printed.
Does this change my image?
No. The calculator gives dimensions and assumptions. Use a separate image tool only if you need to modify the file.
Does 300 PPI guarantee a sharp print?
No. Focus, compression, noise, paper, printing method and viewing distance still matter.
Why do the two axes disagree?
Your requested physical rectangle may have a different ratio from the pixel grid. Review crop or padding rather than stretching unintentionally.
