Check an existing small graphic
- Enter the original raster width and height in whole pixels.
- Set the print PPI and a target label region or A6, A5 or A4 comparison size.
- Compare the millimeters, single-pixel size and remaining space before deciding to crop or enlarge.
How much paper does one pixel cover?
At the chosen density, 1 px = 1 ÷ PPI inches = 25.4 ÷ PPI mm. Multiply that single-pixel width by the pixel count: mm = px ÷ PPI × 25.4. At 300 PPI, one pixel spans about 0.08467 mm and a 600-pixel edge spans 50.8 mm.
A 600 × 300 label graphic at 300 PPI spans 50.8 × 25.4 mm. Compared with a 50 × 25 mm region, it is 0.8 × 0.4 mm larger at the stated density. That comparison does not instruct the printer to crop; decide the actual placement and safe area.
Millimeter targets for labels and paper
Use custom fields for a packaging panel or small label. The paper presets are useful when the artwork belongs to a full sheet. Small text and barcodes need their own production checks; a density calculation cannot certify readability or scanning.

Decimal precision does not guarantee printed detail
A calculated fraction of a millimeter describes geometry. It does not account for ink spread, paper, cutting tolerances or a blurred source. Keep fine edges away from a trim boundary and follow the printer’s minimum text and barcode guidance.
When the aspect ratio differs, inspect which detail would be removed by cropping. If the graphic is too small, a higher-resolution original or vector artwork may be more appropriate than ordinary raster enlargement.
Image pixels and CSS pixels
CSS defines 96 CSS pixels per CSS inch for layout. That relationship is not the physical density of every screen, nor a required density for a printed image. Here, PPI is your explicit print assumption; browser zoom does not change the file’s stored pixels.

How many millimeters is one pixel at 300 PPI?
25.4 ÷ 300, or about 0.08467 mm. A different PPI gives a different physical pixel size.
Does enough PPI prove that a small barcode will scan?
No. Barcode dimensions, quiet zones, contrast, printing and the original pattern all matter. Follow the barcode and print specifications.
